In august 2019 we recieved a bottle of champagne in the post with a letter telling us that Into Music was a finalist at this years eBay for business awards. To be hand picked out of the hundreds of thousands of businesses that trade on the eBay platform this was such an honour. Later on that same day we were also told that Jake the owner of Into Music had won The Prince's Trust Young Entrepreneur Of The Year and this would be awarded to him at the awards evening in London.
Since finding out about this great achievement the eBay team were great and stayed in constant contact with us all the way through the process, organising our travel and putting us up in an amazing central London hotel for the night. Two videographers came up to film a VT which would be shown on the night to tell the story of Into Music and how Jake launched the idea after leaving college. The ebay press team also organised radio interviews and other great media opportunities to help promote us and the awards.
Fast forward two months and we all travelled down to London for the awards evening at the Ham Yard Hotel in Soho. After a nice afternoon meal in preparation we went back to the hotel to get ready for the event. Once arriving we were greeted with drinks and canapes and the eBay team came and introduced themselves to us.
The ceremony was so inspiring and amazing to see everyone elses stories and speeches. Typically Jakes award was last so very nervous after seeing the other finalists he went on stage to be awarded with Young Entrepreneur Of The Year by Jenny Campbell from BBC Dragons Den. Not the best public speaker he thanked all of the family for believing in him and eBay for the amazing opportunity and for believing in the business.
We got the opportunity to network with some top business people and meet some incredible small business owners like ourselves who are using the eBay platform. It's a day we will never forget we can't thank all of our customers enough for helping us get Into Music to where it is today.
Jake was honoured to be awarded Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2019! So much work goes on behind the scenes to keep Into Music running so it’s amazing to have some recognition for this:
“I started Into Music in Horncastle 2 years ago after leaving music college. The whole idea was launched from absolutely nothing so to be in the position we are now just blows my mind every day! Using eBay has helped skyrocket this business from hardly anything to turning over nearly quarter of a million pounds a year on their platform alone. I can’t thank ebay enough for offering a platform to put my products in front of a global audience and giving me the opportunity to wake up and do a job I love every single day. This is just the beginning and we have so many plans to expand this with both the online shop and the music tutoring here in Horncastle”
